FTLOM Top 40 29 augustus 2020

In 1917 werd de 40- jarige Margaretha Zelle in Frankrijk door een vuurpeloton ter dood gebracht. Wellicht interessante informatie, maar waarom op een muziekblog? Hierom: deze dame uit Leeuwarden was bekender onder haar artiestennaam Mata Hari, bekend van de zogenaamde 'exotische dansen'. Dat is op zich niet direct een reden om iemand ter dood te brengen, maar zij werd er van verdacht in oorlogstijd haar 'kwaliteiten' ingezet te hebben om te spioneren, mogelijk zelfs als dubbelspionne.

Nog steeds een interessant verhaal, maar waar komt de muziek? Hier: in het Fries Museum heeft men diverse zaken die met Mata Hari te maken hebben, waaronder een danskostuum. Dit inspireerde zangeres Kovacs in het kader van de muziek ken kunst competitie Art Rocks tot een nummer gewijd aan Mata Hari.

"Mata Hari" is deze week onze Love Of The week en zal volgende week de terugkeer van Kovacs in de FTLOm Top 40 betekenen na eerdere noteringen met "My Love"(#6 in 2014) en "Diggin'" (#24 in 2015)
