Kelsey Lu heeft een nieuw album uit en komt naar Nederland en België

Singer-songwriter, producer en cellist Kelsey Lu heeft de plaat 'So Help Me God' uitgebracht, haar eerste album in 7 jaar. Het album werd gecoproduceerd door Jack Antonoff (o.a The 1975, Taylor Swift) en Yves Rothman (o.a FKA Twigs, Yves Tumor) en verkent thema’s als toewijding, verlangen, verlies en transcendentie. Ook heeft ze aangekondigd dit najaar op tour te gaan, waarbij ze ook naar Nederland en België zal komen. 

Op het album erkent Lu de veranderingen die ze in deze jaren heeft doorgemaakt, waar ze zelf over vertelt: “A lot has happened in the past seven years, a lot of healing and growth, but this isn’t really a healing album. It’s more of a reckoning. It’s about facing the parts of myself I tried to move past, and realising they were still shaping everything. This album is me standing in that truth instead of trying to transcend it.” 

Bij het album verschijnt ook een korte film, gemaakt samen met de BAFTA-winnende regisseur Savanah Leaf. Met de Franse actrice Garance Marillier in de hoofdrol en gefilmd door fotograaf Yumna Al-Arashi vormt de film meer dan een visuele aanvulling: het is een onderdeel van het project, waarin muziek, beeldende kunst en cultuur samenkomen.

Later dit jaar komt ze naar Nederland en België:
